FEDERATION OF ETHIOPIAN NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

                                                                                                (FENAPD)

             The Ethiopian Federation of Persons with Disabilities (FENAPD) is non-profit,non-governmental cross disability umbrella association of the four single disability focused national associations that are found in the country. Founded in December 1996 with the aim of raising the awearness of the public about issues of dissability.

           Since its establishment  FENAPD has been serving as the higest representative body of Ethiopian People with disabilities for the last 14 years. The Federation has re-registered as a network of Ethiopian resident charities under the charities and societies proclamation no 621/2009 and it is on the process to admit two member organizatons representing the same dissability group.

              FENAPD envisages all persons with Dissabilities participate equally in development.And it's misstion is to promot the overall participation of persons with dissabilities by bringing the member associations togerher,serving as their common voice by representing them at national,continental and global level,by cosolidating their common effort, by establishing strong relationship with strategic parners and working together and build their capacity.

Objectives of FENAPD  

within the overarching objective of ensuring the equal participation of Ethiopian Persons with disabilities in Development,FENAPD has the following strategiic objectives.

  1.Increase organizational efficiency and membership base of member DPO's.

  2.Maximaize the social disability awearness level.

  3.Narrow or reduce the disability information and data gap.

  4.Increase the involvement and participation level of the federation in continental and global alliance.

                                                  FENAPD major target groups

                                                   Dissability organizations,persons with disabilities in general,educational institutions,health institutions,service providing government and non-government institutions,development plan   

                                                     ners,government executive body,policy makers,community leaders,community members and other stakeholders.

                                                  Resource mobilization of FENAPD

                                                     FENAPD has been working towards raising funds locally and internationally.Different organizations and indiciduals have been communicated for parthnership and funding.FENAPD

                                                    developed (curentlly has on shelf) more than 8 project proposals for funding.curentlly It has a full time fund raisng project team and other volunteer.FENAPD members dedicated for 

                                                     resource moblization.
